President’s Message
Welcome to the official website for the Westport Young Woman’s League. The Westport Young Woman’s League has been helping people in need in Fairfield County for over 50 years. Through our Ways and Means process, we have funded organizations that serve the homeless, victims of abuse, families and children in poverty, seniors, as well as provide cultural programming throughout our area. Funding for these grants is raised through two major fundraisers – CraftWestport and the Minute Man Race.
Volunteers are the heart of the WYWL. We are a committed group of community volunteers, who serve the community in addition to raising funds. Members cook meals for the homeless, collect clothing and books for children in need, and perform Kids on Block puppet shows for local elementary school children. Our members are a group of women who share a desire to make a positive impact on our community. Our members are as diverse as our community. We are single, married and divorced ¾ stay at home moms and women who work full and part time.
The League has achieved much in the past 50 plus years but we have not done it alone. We would not exist without the support of the Westport community and women like you. We are always looking for new members who are interested in meeting new people and volunteerism. We accept membership applications year ‘round. If you’d like to become more active in the Westport community please click the “How to Join” button for an application or e-mail us at membership@wywl.com.
Our fundraisers would not happen without the generous support of our sponsors. If you are interested in partnering with us on one or more of our events please contact us at info@wywl.com.
